Jacqui Read is an internationally recognised software and enterprise architect with over 13 years of industry experience, and author of Communication Patterns: A Guide for Developers and Architects.
She specialises in assisting businesses to create and enhance architecture practices, construct evolutionary architectures, and untangle and extract value from data and knowledge. Alongside consulting, Jacqui teaches public and private workshops and speaks at international conferences on topics such as architecture decisions, technical communication, and architecture practices. She also runs software architecture katas for teams and companies.
Her professional interests include collaborative modelling, knowledge management, DDD, and sociotechnical architecture. Outside of work she enjoys gardening and attempting to strum her ukulele and sing at the same time.

The purpose of a diagram is to successfully communicate with the audience, which sounds deceptively simple. Communication design patterns can be applied to guide you towards this ultimate goal of successful communication in Domain-Driven Design, and towards maximum inclusion for your audience.
In this practical workshop, learn from a hands-on solution architect - and thought leader in communication patterns - how to apply design patterns to tailor your DDD visuals and software diagrams to your audience, choose the most appropriate standards (or not) and level of detail, and improve accessibility for all audiences. We will use free open-source tools accessible via the internet.
Recommended to bring laptops but could share. Internet connection needed for GitHub access and online tool use. Back-up materials provided if there are large technical issues.
